唐代海兽葡萄镜 。 由内而外分别为瑞兽葡萄纹和禽鸟 ， 柔长的葡萄枝蔓枝条、舒展的花叶、饱满的葡萄与生动活泼的兽、纷飞的禽鸟构成了一幅幅妙趣横生的画面 ， 由于采用浮雕技法 ， 画面高低起伏 ， 立体感极强 。 这类铜镜主要流行于武则天时期 ， 多为圆形 ， 少量呈方形、菱花形 。 在宋代《博古图录》中被称为“海马葡萄镜”， 到清代《西清古鉴》中才改称为“海兽葡萄镜” 。 关于葡萄 ， 其实是一种外来水果 。 文献资料表明 ， 自汉代张骞通西域后 ， 中国便已开始种植葡萄 ， 当时的丝织品上也开始出现了葡萄纹饰 。 到了唐代 ， 丝织品中的葡萄花纹则更多了 ， 例如白居易诗《和梦游春诗一百韵》中有“朝织葡桃绫”、李端《胡腾儿》“葡萄长带一边垂”等诗句 ， 都是描述丝织品上的葡萄纹 ， 说明唐代葡萄种植以及以它为纹样已经比较流行了 。 所以说这件铜镜带有鲜明的中外文化交流的色彩 ， 有学者称之为“凝结了欧亚大陆文明之镜” 。

The mirror of the sea beast grape shaped in the Tang Dynasty. From the inside out, it is the grapevine grain and birds, the long grapevine branches, the stretched leaves, the full grapes and the lively beasts, and the flying birds form a picture of fun and interesting. The embossing technique, the picture is high and low, and the three-dimensional feeling is extremely strong. This type of bronze mirror is mainly popular in the Wu Zetian period, mostly round, a small amount of square, rhomboid. In the Song Dynasty "Bogu Pictorial" is called "Hippo Grape Mirror", and in the Qing Dynasty "Xi Qing Gu Jian" was renamed "Sea Beast Grape Mirror". About grapes, it is actually a kind of exotic fruit. According to the literature, since the Han Dynasty, Zhang Yutong passed through the Western Regions, China has begun to grow grapes. At that time, grape patterns began to appear on the silk fabrics. In the Tang Dynasty, there were more grape patterns in silk fabrics. For example, Bai Juyi’s poem "and the dreams of spring poetry and a hundred rhymes" include "the peasant peasant peach", Li Duan "huteng children", "the grape grows with one side", etc. The verses are all about the grape pattern on the silk, which shows that the grape planting in the Tang Dynasty and the pattern of it have become more popular. Therefore, this bronze mirror has a distinctive color of cultural exchange between China and foreign countries. Some scholars call it "the mirror of the civilization of Eurasia."
