Interesting to hear some US official talking about the story of vaccine. Is this the normal logic that if anyone has something better than mine, then it must be stolen from me? Remember, China has 5000 years of history while the US has less than 250.

The US allegations are groundless. In fact, China has made significant progress in developing a novel coronavirus vaccine. China supports further information-sharing on COVID-19 and exchange of useful experience and practices between countries, as well as international cooperation in vaccine and drug research and development.
我想强调的是,新冠病毒疫苗研发不是中美之争,而是人类与病毒之争 。 哪个国家率先完成疫苗研发并投入使用都是对人类抗击疫情的积极贡献 。 人类正在同病毒赛跑,每天都有鲜活的生命被病毒无情夺走 。 疫苗是战胜病毒的关键 。 我们期待疫苗研发领域有更多的捷报频传 。 我们也期待继续同国际社会一道,为推进疫苗研发等全球抗疫合作添砖加瓦,共同打造人类卫生健康共同体 。
I would like to underline that COVID-19 vaccine development is not a race between China and the US, but a race between mankind and the virus. No matter which country is the first to develop and deploy a vaccine, it will be a great contribution to all mankind in this fight. Mankind is racing against the virus, which claims lives ruthlessly every day. As the vaccine is the key to defeating the virus, we hope to hear more good news in this regard. We also stand ready to work with the international community to contribute our share to the concerted global response to COVID-19 including in vaccine R&D and to forge a global community of health for all.
据了解,截至目前全球共有100多个科研团队、按多个技术路线全力攻关新冠疫苗 。 据科技部社会发展科技司司长吴远彬介绍,目前全球开展临床试验的疫苗总共有10个,中国有5款疫苗进入临床试验,其中包括陈薇院士团队研发的腺病毒载体疫苗,和4个灭活疫苗 。
陈薇院士团队的腺病毒载体疫苗于3月底完成了一期临床试验受试者接种,并于4月12日启动了二期临床试验 。
陈薇院士团队还发布了全球首个新冠病毒疫苗的人体试验结果 。 5月22日晚21时许,国际学术期刊《柳叶刀》(The Lancet)发布陈薇院士新冠疫苗I期临床试验结果 。 研究表明,这是第一种进入第一阶段临床试验的COVID-19疫苗,它具有良好的安全性和耐受性,并且能够诱导快速的免疫反应 。
China's COVID-19 vaccine trial, the first such vaccine to reach phase 1 clinical trial, has been found to be safe, well-tolerated, and able to generate an immune response against SARS-COV-2 in humans, according to a study published online on May 22 by medical journal The Lancet.
